When was the last time you didn’t see a bear depicted as barring his teeth and flashing his claws (almost always towards a human)? This behavior is what the media, movies, TV and magazines want you to believe is a bears natural behavior. The truth is, they couldn’t be farther from the truth. People buy into this unnatural depiction because they generally have little understanding of bears and feel they have to. The result is the refusal of humans to want to coexist peacefully with bears and too many bears killed every year because of it. Armed with knowledge and a deeper understanding of bears, humans are more than capable of coexisting with them peacefully.
